PRISM - Derived Search - Title Key

Rules:

• Format/Pattern of letters to be taken from title words:

  3,2,2,1

• Examples:

  Tale of Two Cities	tal,of,tw,c
  Dead Zone	dea,zo,,
  The The (Name of a CD)	What do you think?
  The Red and the Black	red,an,th,b
  IEEE Spectrum	iee,sp,,

Note:

• All 3 commas are included even when there are fewer than 4 words.
• This is because the commas identify the search as a Title Key Search to PRISM.
• Numerals, acronyms, initialisms, and initials with no spaces are considered single words.
  • Example:

    The J.D. Salinger Newsletter

    jd, sa,ne,

• Include:
  • Letters
  • Numbers
  • These symbols: & $ % @ £
• Exclude:
  • Initial articles (a, an, the, and comparable ones in foreign languages) but include these articles within titles.
  • Punctuation
  • Diacritics
  • These symbols: - # / + = ±
