Capturing/Saving RLIN Search Results: Using the Type & Display Continuous Command

The Type command

• Continuously displays your own record from a cluster.
• If there is none for your li, the command will display the primary cluster member unless you specify a record within the cluster by li.

Setting the default Type display format:

set type <display format>

Using Type:

• Locate the records you want to save.
• Turn on continuous screen capture in your communications software
• Enter:
  • type <record number(s)> <optionally, record format and library code>
• Examples:

  Entry	Meaning
  type 1-7, 9	Default Type display
  type 1-7 pri	Primary display
  type 8-15 long sin	Long display, each record on a separate page
  type 9 full hol	Full display with Holdings segment
  type 5-7 full arc	Full display with ARC segment
  type 12-20 nypg	Records for LI NYPG
  type all	Type all cubg (UC Berkeley) partial
  type all mul	Type all in Multiple Display format.

• For results of more than 50 records, use separate commands for up to 50:
  • Example: type 1-50 type 51-100, etc.

  NOTE: Remember to turn off your continuous screen capture when you are done.

Display Continuous command (dis con)

• This command is used to display records from Special Databases continuously for downloading.
• Examples:
  • dis 1 lon con
  • dis 5 mul con
