Displaying RLIN Search Results: Using the Display Command

Setting the display to a default

• This can be done at the beginning of or during a session.
• Format:
  • set display <format>

  Sets session default to FUL|HIS|LCC|LON|PAR

• Example:
  • set display ful

Display Algorithm

• display [<number>] [<format>] [<LI>]
  • Example: dis 1 ful
• display [<number>] [<format>] [<LI>]
  • Note: LI is the 4-letter RLIN member library identifier.
  • Example: dis 23 lon nyug

Formatting the output using the Display Command (dis)

display <number> <li>	Displays
dis	Shows current record using the default (current) display.
dis 2	Displays Primary display of cluster 2 or default display of the user li's record.
dis 2 ucbg	Displays specified li's record in cluster 2 (after determining that there is one there for the li)
dis 2 lon ucbg	Displays specified li's record in cluster 2 in long form.

Formatting the output without Display Command (dis)

display format <number> <li>	Displays
lon [or pri,par,ful,mul]	Shows current record in specified display
par 2	Shows first record or user's li's record in cluster to using the specified display format.
ful 2 utbg	Displays specified li's record in cluster 2 in specified display format.
