Searching EBSCOhost: Expanding Searches

Scope

  • The default for searching in EBSCOhost is searching in the major indexes, including:
    • Citation, which includes Title, Author, Subject headings, and other basic indexes on the publication of a document.
    • Abstract
  • EBSCOhost enables one to expand searches to cover more of each record.
  • It does through the use of a limiter called "expanders"
  • Note: Expanders are not available in the Natural Language search page.

    • Expands search and, thus, the range of results to include synonyms and plurals of your term(s).
  • Also search within the full text of the articles
