A markup language that specifies
how information is to be displayed in a browser.
XML
An Extensible Markup Language
(XML) that is used to specify the types of information in any kind
of document. For example, <engineering
category>mechanical</engineering category> indicates that
"mechanical" is a category of engineering.
It is extensible because new
kinds of information types can be created by the user.
RSS (RDF [Rich
Data Format] Site Summary)
An XML-based extensible metadata
description and syndication format.
This is a standard for
identifying intellectual property in the electronic, online
environment.
It enables the identification of
a very specific piece of information in the way that an ISBN
identifies a specific publication or a barcode identifies a
specific book in a particular library.
