Searching SIRSI Unicorn WebCat: Complex Search

Scope

• To access SIRSI Unicorn WebCat's Complex Search search page, requires clicking on the button from the Quick Search Web page.

Appearance

Search the Library Catalog

• The user is given two sets of pull down menus and multiple entry fields following fields to easily configure more complex searches.
• Field Selection pull-down menus
  • Each of the pull-down fields in the first, left, column offers several fields for searching.
  • The user can search for more than one word in the same field or search in several different fields simultaneously, each with different search terms.
• Entry Field
  • Enter your search terms in the second column, which provides 6 Entry Fields.
• Boolean pull-down menus
  • The right column consists of pull-down menus, each of which gives the searcher access to the use of and, or, xor, or not Boolean operators.
  • The operator affects the relationship between the search term in the row that it is in and the search term in the following row.
