Searching MELVYL: Commands: Help & Explain

Scope

• You can ask MELVYL to explain virtually any operation or function with the Help and Explain commands, which are relatively synonymous.
• Start out by just typing help. This will bring the following display:

  You can now: - Select a category of databases and systems, such as BIOMED. You will then get a menu of databases and systems for that category. - Type the name of a MELVYL system database, such as TEN or MAGS, to choose that database now. - Type the name of another system or database outside the MELVYL system, such as UNCOVER or INFOSLUG, to choose that database or system now. - Press RETURN to go back to the main database and system menu. - Type END to end your session. ========================================== Please type a category, database, or system name.
