Searching MELVYL: Utility Commands: Show

Scope

• show is an excellent tool for getting all sorts of information on your searchings, settings, etc.

Finding search information:

show search	shows your current search request and search result
show history	shows your previous search requests
show sets	shows searches saved as sets

Shows setting information:

show settings

shows a wide range of settings for searching MELVYL databases. The settings include date, display options, language, form, library, terminal type, timeout, etc. These can be used indvidually with show.

Help show

• There are numerous other kinds of possibly useful information about MELVYL, the databases, and underlying system and system usage that can be revealed with the show command.
• Type help show to see these.
