Searching MELVYL: Displaying Results of a Search

Type display (or d) to see the results of a search command that retrieves some records for books or other materials.

You will see records sorted (in "sort order") and displayed in alphabetic order by author, except for very recently added records, which are displayed last.

• The results of a book search will be displayed by author, title, and date of publication.
• The results of a periodicals contents search (not on the PE database, which is journal holdings information only) are ordered by author and title.
• Music scores and sound recordings are displayed by author, uniform title (when present), descriptive title, and date of publication.:

  NOTE: At the present time, you cannot request different sort orders for any MELVYL databases.
