Searching
MELVYL: Printing the Results of a Search
Scope
Currently from
the text-based interface to MELVYL, one has to capture or
download*
the results of the searches, whether they are in the form of a
list
or a set.
Capturing
(downloading) the results of searches
This can be done
through the use of the "Capture
Session to File"
[command
K on the
Mac] command on the Session
pull-down menu.
Click on the
Session
pull-down
the menu
Holding the
mouse button down pull down to Capture
Session to File, then
release the button. This will turn the capture to disk function
on.
A window will
come asking you to specify a file name and a place to save the
file.
Display the
file continuously.
Examples:

1-5, 6 au ti marc
[display continuously the author and title fields in
MARC format of records 1-5 and 6]

[display "saved"
list slowly, continuously]
When the
entire list or set has displayed, click on the
Session
pull-down
the menu
Holding the
mouse button down pull down to Capture
Session to File, then
release the button. This turns off the capture
process.
You have saved
the file with the name you specified at the location you
selected.
Notes:
The
download
command has not yet been implemented.
Another way of
display records continuously is to type:
display
print.
