Searching MELVYL: Introduction
Scope
To do a Search in MELVYL's CAT, TEN, or PE, you need three components:
Search Terms
Search Command words
The primary search command is
find
or
f
The browse command is
browse
or
bro
An Index
An index, as noted before, is a file of all items in a specific single field, such as authors or titles or ISBN numbers.
Indexes speed searching of databases.
Usage
The Commands, Indexes, & Search Terms are used in the following manner:
