Double quotation marks
"
" can be used in search or
browse requests to be sure that the MELVYL system treats the
enclosed words as words to be searched, not as command
words.
Quotation marks
must always be
used in pairs.
Example searches:
find
xt aldous huxley
"at"
UCLA
find
xt
"aldous
huxley at
UCLA"
Both of above techniques
prevents the MELVYL search process from limiting the search to
books with the title "Aldous Huxley" that are in the UCLA
library. Instead they find the "Aldous Huxley at UCLA"
monograph.
Quotation marks also may be used
override the automatic truncation in exact
index searches.
Example searches:
find
xt internet
finds all books that begin
with the word "Internet" but
