Okay, so who is trying to buy this domain?
Over the last six years, we have had 30-40 offers for this domain name. We have licensed and used it since 1995 to host our classes, resources for our professional library work, pages for friends and family, and, recently, we have been adding in our art and writing. Why would we want to give it up?

Well, in the last few months, we have had some significant offers for this domain, including one of $100,000, but the people who contacted us would not say whom they represented. Who could possibly want the domain that much? Well, we are librarians and online researchers, so we did some research. We came up with quite a number of candidates, including the following:

  • AT&T - The most logical candidate. The Fortune 100 company has a new "Blue Room" multimedia portal but an awkward URL (attblueroom.com). "blueroom.com" would be ideal, and the company has the money.
  •
  • BBC - BBC's Radio 1 has a "Blue Room" radio show.
  •
  • Virgin Blue - This Australian airlines has a series of "Blue Room" business-friendly lounges as various airports.
  •
  • There are some other large companies, but most of the others are smaller, and we don't think that they can afford what we might want if we were to sell this domain. But we are in no rush, and many of our former students , relatives, and friends have made good use of this domain at one time or another as have we.
  •
  • Our primary concern is that someone is trying to buy the domain at a lower price and rebroker it to one of the major candidates for it. Instead of that, if a major company is sincerely interested in acquiring it, contact us directly, not through a second party. Our email address is at the bottom of the page (in the graphic). We will put you in contact with our lawyer, and we may be able to work out a deal.
  •
  • Otherwise, we are just happy to continue using "blueroom.com," as it has significant meaning (see the home page) and utility for us.
  •
    • Cheers, John
